As we all know, we mark the beginning of Indian premier league ( IPL) 2024. This is the 17th season of the tournament. Gujrat Titans were the champions in the previous season. We now will have a look at the tournament (IPL ) 2024. There are many good things happening as well as some controversies around happening. Lets have a look at all of them:1. This is the biggest and most talked controversy in this season IPL. Before the commencement of the tournament, Hardik Pandya was announced as the captain of Mumbai Indians. This provided a shock to all Indians fans and Mumbai Indians fans.
Rohit Sharma being the most experienced player of the side without a doubt should be in the captaincy role. During the match, we saw feud between them, when Rohit was sent on the long on position. We ca also have a look at the list of all rounders and judge the best ones.

Mitchell Starc is the most expensive player of IPL yet. He was bought for a whopping amount of Rs. 24.75cr. Fans expected him to perform very well like he did for Australia in the CWC. For that reason he was bought for this amount. In today's match somehow, in the first match he conceded 53 runs in 4 overs without a wicket. For a player of a huge value this was a poor performance3. He has been the most talked player of IPL 2024. He is an Indian born pacer in Lucknow Super Giants. His bowling is keeping people amazed. He bowls at the speed of more than 150km/h. Very few bowlers reach this milestone. He is uncapped right now but soon to be capped. He also has control on his line and lengths. He played under 19 recently.

In yesterday's match between Chennai Super Kings(CSK) vs Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR), we saw KKR setting a low target of 138 runs in 20 overs. It was an easy chase for them but they lost few wickets by the end. We saw Mahendra Singh Dhoni entering the ground. This process led to a roar by the people in stadium. To which, Russell reacted to by closing his ears and disrespecting the crowd.

There are 3 teams with 6 points like KKR, LSG, CSK. There are 3 points with 4 points like SRH, PBKS, GT. There are 3 teams with 2 points like RCB, MI, DC. So the competition is high and is heating.

An Australian player played the first 5 matches of the season as had no space in the team. But was selected for one match and proved his importance here. Scored 55 in 35 balls. Took Delhi capitals for their 2nd victory of the season. Now he has made a spot in the playing XI. He scored his 85% runs from boundaries by smashing it out if the park and grounded shots. He emerged as a jewel for Delhi capitals. Hope this form to continue.

Yesterday we saw Royal challengers Bangalore(RCB) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH). In that match we saw SRH breaking its own record of scoring highest runs in a match. Previously the record was for 272/3 in the previous match but in the next game which was RCB vs SRH they changed that record by scoring 287/3. Their batting was breathtaking yesterday. We saw RCB fans yesterday showed up in numbers and went home disappointed.

A match between PBKS vs RR, Sandeep Sharma got to play his first match for the team ie. RR. He came on to bowl the opening overs of the innings and got some wickets early on. After some overs, he took a total of 5 wickets and was the man of the match in that match.

He was got in after 4 loss, but after his introduction, no bowler was left to smash. He almost started hitting almost every ball and DC could bring on huge totals of 210. And thus, this got them back to winning ways.

They both helped to create a record and chase these many runs.

In IPL we have seen teams scoring big runs of 180 and 190. Very rarely we used to see a batting feast of 200 runs. But in this season of IPL, we have seen 200+ runs almost in every match. There are very few instances when 200 is not scored. 200 is now the basic score for the team. We have also seen new recorded being created of most runs scored in an innings.
